Of the People by the People

Hello All,

I as well as many others were surprised at what occurred at the U.S. Capitol building. But let me me frank, the building is nothing more then just that a building, Our Republic does not live in some sacred or hollowed halls, it resides in the people of this great country.

What is more appalling is that we are being told this is some act of treason because American citizens broke into U.S. Capitol building, which let me remind everyone belongs to the people of the U.S. not those elected folks that work there.

Once again in this ever stranger universe we find again that the narrative being pushed completely misses the voice of the people. Both the President elect and vice-President elect made this evident in their rhetoric to the people in response when again they decided to make this about color and race rather then about unity and transparency. Which is what the people of the United States is demanding.

Let us not forget that all of the Founding Fathers, which included 4 U.S. Presidents lead a revolution against a tyrannical Government that suppressed the voice of the people. With the purpose of freedom and equality for all. Albeit as we have viewed over time, this vision was not in all instance true to all the people of this great country, And as such we the people have demanded ratification to undo these injustices.

What though we are seeing today is a backsliding, not a progression towards equality but rather in an attempt to right the wrongs of many of our past aggression, towards a oppressive cultural shift to again place the voice of the people not from unity but based on ones skin color or race. True equality requires equal representation of all the people for the people. Not of one party for one party.

Let us also not forget that this very thing was from the onset of this great republic a concern, and as such the "Federalist Papers," were published to bring to light how allowing the Government to reside in the set of power over the people would in the end be the end of this country and destroy the bedrock built upon the belief that the people should hold the power, and that the voice of the people would be the voice of the nation.

  1. A great reminder that needs to be sent to all the Members of Congress and all Americans."The building is nothing more than just that, a building, Our Republic does not live in some hollowed halls or reside in the power of a President or King, it resides in the people of this great country."

We have all the proof of this you need in our history in 1814 when the British burned the White House and the Capital we didn't stop existing as a nation we met in a hotel. We didn't meet in the Senate building again for 5 years. We must not forget that our founders often disagreed with each other and fought with each other even name called and sometimes like today just didn't like one another .

I recently rewatched James Madison on HBO and was happy to be reminded that these great men didn't all see eye to eye. They disagreed often even to the point of hatred for each other but some how through debate and compromise and time built a great nation, where even the minority has a voice. Sadly today I feel that many forget that you can easily go from being the minority to majority in an election cycle and that we have gotten into far too much group think, an all or nothing mentality of leadership. The founders purposely made it that change in our Nation would not be simple, overnight or on a whim. Hopefully our current representatives will wake up and start working together again one day with the understanding that the majority isn't always right nor the minority always wrong.

Sadly the message of thousands of Americans who went to the Capital to be heard is now being drowned out by the actions of some stupid people and a very bias media. Many had valid concerns of election fraud and changes that happened in the dark of night. Trumps approval numbers have actually gone up with the foolish notion of impeachment the Democrats seem hell bent on pursuing. Just a reminder Democrats if you cut off all the voices of opposition by social media and regular media when they are all gone and things go wrong the only ones left to blame will be those in charge. I am also disappointed at the calls I see and investigations going on of US Military for just being at the protest. Mostly by Democrats who I have for years heard push how protest is such a great American value, until it’s a protest they don’t like or agree with then they want to cause fear and intimidation by ordering investigations like the one of the female army captain who just organized a trip for her community but from my understanding didn’t enter the capital. In other words when a 100,000 people show up to the Capital you may want to listen to what their concerns are and not try and ignore them because some bad events happened or you don’t like their politics.

    1. Paul,

You are spot on with you response. I do believe the difference between then and now is that previously there was a common goal. That of birthing a Nation for the People and of the People. This is lost in how this country is being lead, for all sides of the isle.
